Cardiovascular diseases

The internist and cardiologist, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Vera Regitz-Zagrosek, was director of the Berlin Institute for Gender in Medicine (GiM) at Charité, Universitätsmedizin Berlin from 2008 to 2019 and is currently senior professor at GiM. She holds the only professorship in Germany for women-specific health research with a focus on cardiovascular diseases. She researches differences and similarities between men and women in heart disease and how to improve therapy for both.
